Job summary

Motion Recruitment Partners LLC in the Chicago area seeks a Senior Software Engineer to drive modernization by developing solutions that enhance business operations. You will transition from VB.NET to C#, and evolve ASP.NET platforms to Blazor while contributing to the ERP system.

This is a 6-month contract position with potential for extension or conversion. Onsite presence is required two days per week in the southwest suburbs of Chicago.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering in .NET (C#/VB.Net).
• 5+ years building APIs and working with JSON.
• 3+ years Blazor or Razor development and .NET Core.
• Relational databases experience (SQL Server or Oracle).
• Cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP) preferred; Azure DevOps a plus.
• Experience with Webforms is a plus and agile teams.
• Strong self-management and ability to handle multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical solutions to modernize legacy systems.
• Lead VB.NET to C# migration and ASP.NET to Blazor evolution.

Software company looking to bring on a Senior Software Engineer. You’ll be key to driving modernization and growth by developing technical solutions that enhance business operations. You will play an impactful part in modernizing legacy systems, transitioning from VB.NET to C#, and evolving web platforms from ASP.NET to Blazor. You’ll also contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the company’s ERP system.

Required Skills & Experience

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including object-oriented programming using .NET technologies (C#/VB.Net)
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with APIs and JSON
• At least 3+ years in Blazor or Razor development and .NET Core
• Solid experience with relational databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle)
• Previous work in cloud computing environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is highly preferred
• Experience with Webforms and Azure DevOps is a plus
• Strong self-management skills, capable of handling multiple priorities
• History of success in agile development teams
