Job summary

Bitsight, a cyber risk management leader, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our backend engineering team focusing on Third Party Risk Management. You will own features from design to delivery in a high-trust, collaborative environment, building well-tested SaaS applications.

You will work with Python, Django/FastAPI/Flask, REST APIs, and cloud (AWS), with CI/CD and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

Qualifications

• Five years of experience as a Software Engineer building and maintaining a SaaS application.
• Experience with CI/CD (e.g. Gitlab CI/CD, Jenkins) and container technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong experience with Python and modern Python frameworks and technologies, such as Django, FastAPI, Flask, SQLAlchemy.
• Experience maintaining, building, and optimizing REST APIs.
• Experience with cloud computing environments (AWS).
• Excellent communication skills in English - both written and spoken.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly experienced and collaborative backend engineer and team player to join one of our multicultural Engineering teams, focusing on our Third Party Risk Management business.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you are known for thinking on your feet, learning quickly, and owning a problem to resolution. You enjoy solving complex problems while contributing with new ideas and techniques, leading to continuous improvement for the team. You enjoy close collaboration to find better ways to deliver great quality software in a high-trust Engineering culture.

Requirements:

• Five (5) years of experience as a Software Engineer building and maintaining a SaaS application.

• Experience with CI/CD (e.g. Gitlab CI/CD, Jenkins) and container technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).

• Strong experience with Python and modern Python frameworks and technologies, such as Django, FastAPI, Flask, SQLAlchemy.

• Experience maintaining, building, and optimizing REST APIs.

• Experience with cloud computing environments (E.g., AWS)

• Excellent communication skills in English - both written and spoken.

Preferred:

• Hands‑on experience building internal coding agents (e.g., ticket-to-MR, automated code review) and leading their rollout, including process design and team enablement.

• Solid experience with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and data modeling.

• Experience with big data technologies, such as Hadoop and Spark ecosystems.

• Experience with OpenSearch/Elasticsearch.

• Hands‑on experience leveraging AI‑assisted coding tools in daily workflows, including but not limited to Claude Code, Copilot, and Cursor.

The anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is US$119,000 to $150,000 annually for US-based employees. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations, is based on a full-time work schedule, and is Bitsight’s good faith estimate as of the date of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for participation in a bonus or commission plan and an equity grant.
