Senior Software Engineer - Alloy and OpenTelemetry Collector | USA | Remote
Grafana Labs is a remote-first, open-source company with a global reach and a strong open-source legacy. We serve millions of users and thousands of companies with Grafana Cloud and the Grafana Enterprise Stack, offering scalable metrics (Grafana Mimir), logs (Grafana Loki), and traces (Grafana Tempo).
We are scaling rapidly and value transparency, autonomy, and collaboration. We welcome candidates who are excited by meaningful work and are open to roles that may evolve with the company.
You may not meet every requirement, and that’s okay. If this role excites you, we’d love you to raise your hand for what could be a truly career-defining opportunity.
Grafana Cloud is our composable observability platform that integrates metrics, logs, and traces with Grafana. It enables customers to use the best open-source observability software – including Prometheus, Mimir, Loki, and Tempo – without installing, maintaining, or scaling their own observability stack.
The Observability department focuses on helping developers understand the health and performance of their applications and infrastructure in any environment by providing tools to instrument code, ingest observability data into Grafana Cloud, and visualize and explore it.
Grafana Alloy is an open-source OpenTelemetry Collector distribution with built-in Prometheus pipelines and support for metrics, logs, traces, and profiles. The Alloy team collaborates with the upstream OpenTelemetry collector community on components in our distribution and covers use cases beyond OpenTelemetry, such as integration of Prometheus exporters.
As a remote-first, global company, we embrace diverse experiences and backgrounds and seek engineers who communicate well with data and deliver seamless experiences for customers. Engineers at Grafana also have opportunities to contribute to Open Source communities.
As we are remote-first, we provide guidance and regular video-based communication, so independent attitude and good communication skills are essential.
In the US the base compensation range for this role is $148,505 - $178,206. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed during the interview process. All roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) to align incentives with Grafana Labs’ success.
Compensation ranges are country specific. If you are applying from a location different from the listed location, your recruiter will discuss the market pay range and benefits at the start of the process.
We recruit, train, compensate, and promote regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, disability, age, veteran status, and other characteristics. We believe equality and diversity strengthen Grafana Labs as we grow.
Grafana Labs may utilize AI tools in its recruitment process to assist in matching CVs to job postings. Inbound CVs will still be reviewed manually for alignment with openings.
