project44 is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our engineering team in Chicago. You will design, build, and implement integrations that accelerate connections to global logistics networks in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Responsibilities include owning backend services, IAM and search modernization, transforming large-scale data into actionable insights, and collaborating with product, data, and design to deliver scalable solutions.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional experience building large-scale, cloud-based systems.
Proficient in Java programming and debugging.
Experience designing microservices and REST APIs.
Familiar with Agile software development and AI-assisted tools.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate backend systems powering decision intelligence.
Build services and workflows to reduce manual effort and enable action.
Own and modernize core platform services like IAM and search infrastructure.
Transform large-scale logistics data into actionable insights and outcomes.
Collaborate with product, data, and design to translate customer problems into scalable solutions.
Build and operate systems on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Take shared ownership of development, testing, deployment and operations.
Participate in on-call rotation and improve observability and tooling.
