Job summary

Google LLC seeks a Senior Software Engineer for AI interactions in XR to design and build scalable ML-driven features for next-generation eyewear and related platforms. You will work on multimodal systems, collaborating with UX, product and research teams, affecting billions of users.

This role emphasizes end-to-end ML including deployment, evaluation, data processing and debugging, with in-person interviews typical. Location options include San Jose, CA and San Francisco, CA, USA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development.
• 3 years of experience with speech/audio, reinforcement learning, ML infrastructure, or related ML field.
• 3 years of experience with end-to-end ML (deployment, evaluation, data processing, debugging).
• 1 year of experience with AI and agentic development.
• Preferred: MS/PhD in CS or related field.
• 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement solutions in specialized ML areas, leverage ML infrastructure, and demonstrate expertise in a chosen field.
• Innovate and architect multimodal problems, own implementation and delivery of features for next-generation eyewear.
• Collaborate across UX, product, design and research to identify technologies, establish milestones, and progress solutions from concept to launch.
• Evaluate and develop technologies and product applications to support next-generation product features and system architecture.
• Foster technical excellence and cross-functional coordination to drive project success.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

US: $174000 - $252000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
