Job summary

C.H. Robinson is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Global Forwarding team. You will lead the design and delivery of scalable software that modernizes freight planning, pricing, booking, and execution.

You’ll mentor engineers, drive AI-enabled automation, and influence architecture across multiple product areas. Role requires deep experience in distributed systems, APIs, and cloud-native practices, with a focus on reliability, security, and performance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience developing and implementing commercial software.
• Strong experience designing and developing applications in an object-oriented environment (e.g. C#, .NET).
• Experience designing distributed systems, APIs, services, and integrations across multiple applications or domains.
• Experience with relational databases (MS SQL, Oracle) including schema design and performance tuning.
• Experience with non-relational databases and modern data-storage patterns.
• Experience with HTTP, REST APIs, event-driven architectures, and asynchronous processing.
• Experience with unit, integration, and automated testing strategies.
• Experience with version control systems (Git, GitHub, TFS).
• Experience with CI/CD and modern software delivery practices.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a tech field.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of scalable software solutions across Global Forwarding.
• Translate business problems into durable technical solutions for pricing, booking, and execution.
• Design AI-enabled solutions to automate knowledge work and decision-making.
• Develop AI-assisted workflows using LLMs, agents, and workflow orchestration.
• Establish patterns for reliable enterprise AI with observability and security.
• Mentor engineers and lead architecture discussions across teams.
• Collaborate with product and operations to automate and improve workflows.
• Deliver high-quality software with emphasis on performance and scalability.
• Build integrations across internal platforms, carrier systems, and external partners.
