Job summary

PowerSchool is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable software across the product suite. You will work with TypeScript/Java, C#, Python and leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve code quality and delivery outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent, or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 5-10% for team events and conferences.
• On-call hours outside normal workday may apply.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity.
• Strong knowledge of modern software development practices (version control, CI/CD, Agile/Kanban).
• Experience with secure coding practices (OWASP awareness).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software applications and services using modern languages.
• Own delivery of complex features with high independence.
• Collaborate with product and design to translate needs into technical solutions.
• Contribute to system and solution design and architectural decisions.
• Use AI-assisted tools to improve productivity and quality.
• Participate in code reviews and uphold coding standards and security.
• Troubleshoot performance and reliability issues.
• Contribute across all SDLC phases from requirements to support.
• Support QA with unit and integration tests, including AI-augmented testing techniques.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
• Explore emerging AI/ML technologies and practical applications.
