PowerSchool is a global leader in cloud-based K-12 software, powering education for students worldwide. The R&D team drives product development from concept to delivery, with full-stack engineers shaping our products, tools, and infrastructure.

Your day-to-day involves collaborating with Product, reviewing cross-team work, coding with AI tools, and advocating for quality while improving shared tools and processes. Production issue investigations may occur occasionally.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant and related work experience.
• Experience with functional programming (Elixir, Erlang, Scala, F#, etc) or modern statically typed languages (Rust, Go, Zig, etc) developing web applications.
• Experience with PostgreSQL profiling and optimization in production environments.
• Comfortable working in a Full-Stack environment where work may involve CSS/JS, Backend Code, and occasional DevOps & Monitoring tasks.
• Familiarity with self-directed Agentic Development.

Responsibilities

• Translate product requirements into discrete, testable tasks.
• Participate in code reviews across teams.
• Develop code and complete tasks in tandem with AI tools.
• Ask questions and critically review processes with fresh eyes.
• Advocate for quality by calling out unclear or unsound code and tests.
• Collaboratively build and improve shared tools and processes for the wider team.
• Occasionally investigate issues in Production systems or data in response to internal or customer questions.
