Job summary

Athene is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Developer Services team and help shape how software is built across the enterprise. You will design, build, and maintain platforms, reusable tooling, and automation to enable teams to deliver high-quality software faster and more securely.

The role emphasizes AI-enabled engineering practices, cloud-native development, and modern DevOps. You will collaborate with engineers and provide hands-on guidance to adoption of shared tools and patterns,

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant experience in software engineering, application development, developer tooling, platform engineering, or related fields.
• Hands-on web development experience using Python, TypeScript, React, or a contemporary stack; strong SDLC knowledge.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and CI/CD, infrastructure automation, or DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain application reference architectures, reusable templates, engineering patterns, and guidance to accelerate software delivery across Athene.
• Develop AI-enabled engineering capabilities, including reusable skills, agents, and tooling for agentic workloads.
• Build and enhance internal developer platforms, tooling, automation, and web applications to create secure, reliable, and productive development environments.
