NextGear Capital is seeking a Senior Software Engineer who will design, build, and evolve applications and platforms across the SDLC. The role emphasizes AI-augmented development, observability, and collaboration with product managers, architects, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software.

The ideal candidate will mentor teammates, influence engineering practices, and help shape the future of software development in an innovation-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with 4 years’ experience, or equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Advanced, deliberate use of AI coding assistants across the SDLC and leadership in AI-augmented development.
• Analytical and architectural judgment to handle complex, ambiguous problems with dependencies.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with AI agents to build, test, and deploy software across the SDLC.
• Define coding standards and ethical guidelines for AI use.
• Mentor peers and coach junior team members on AI-augmented development.
• Participate in design reviews and deliver product/system elements with clear specs.
• Break down requirements into actionable, estimable objectives for delivery.
