Job summary

Wayve is seeking a senior Software Engineer to build the platform powering our data flywheel and foundation-model stack. This role serves as the engineering counterpart to Applied Scientist and ML Engineer roles, delivering high-leverage, scalable systems that underpin the entire fleet.

You will partner with world-class teams to deploy at global OEM scale. As part of the AI Platform, you will own data pipelines, training/inference infrastructure, and tooling that accelerates research to

Qualifications

Strong production software engineering background with Python services, APIs, and large-scale data processing.
Extensive experience with batch and streaming pipelines, workflow orchestration, and distributed processing.
Solid systems design for high-throughput data/ML systems with strong SQL and performance optimization.
Track record of shipping and operating production systems relied upon by other teams.
Formal CS degree or equivalent practical experience in software engineering.

Responsibilities

Build the platform that turns world-scale driving data into high-signal training data and enables model training.
Replace ad-hoc scripts with self-serve, observable products used across teams.
Ensure every model shipped runs on the platform and scales with the fleet.
Collaborate with scientists and engineers to deploy research into production at scale (OEMs like Nissan, Stellantis, Uber).
Own the platform and infrastructure with opportunities to influence technical direction as it matures.
Design and optimize data pipelines, evaluation infra, and training/serving stacks.
Make data platforms self-serve, reliable, observable, and maintainable.
