Job summary

Allen Institute is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer – AI BioDesign to lead data and ML training pipelines across multiple biological modalities. You will design scalable data storage, versioning, and API access, and help build a model zoo of relevant AI models.

Collaborate with AI scientists and the director on training stack decisions, and develop lab-in-the-loop training processes to accelerate discovery while embracing open science principles.

Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant experience in software/ML
• Experience running/evaluating ML models and building data access APIs
• Familiarity with build processes and CI, such as GitHub Actions

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain ML training and evaluation pipelines across multiple biological modalities
• Design data storage, versioning, and access infrastructure for large-scale, in-house data
• Develop and maintain a model zoo of relevant models
• Working with the director to make/build versus buy decisions on training and data technical stack
• Develop processes to support a lab-in-the-loop training paradigm
