Job summary

Jobtailor in Lehi, Utah is seeking an experienced Architect to design and deploy high-performing cloud products from concept to production in short, iterative cycles. You will lead full-stack development with AWS at the core, building scalable systems for data-intensive workloads and seamless AI integration.

You will mentor colleagues, conduct architectural and code reviews, and align with product, design, and engineering across global time zones.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional software engineering delivering production full-stack apps.
Deep familiarity with AWS infrastructure.
AWS Solutions Architect Certification preferred or able to achieve quickly.
Proficiency in Python/FastAPI and Node.js back-end development.
Proficiency in React front-end frameworks.
Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
Preference for PostgreSQL or Snowflake.
Experience taking 0→1 products from concept to production.
Experience with generative AI systems, prompt engineering, vector search, and agents.
Experience with agentic development tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and Copilot.
Ability to discuss LLM reliability, guardrails, and failure modes.
Ability to collaborate across global time zones.
Ability to mentor colleagues and contribute to architecture reviews.

Responsibilities

Architect, build, and deploy high-performing products from proof-of-concept through production in short, iterative cycles
Design and execute heavy cloud infrastructure using AWS services for high-throughput, data-intensive systems
Integrate generative AI capabilities, including LLMs, embeddings, multimodal models, and agents
Design evaluation harnesses, guardrails, and structured outputs to make AI systems production-reliable
Evaluate emerging AI models and establish team standards for agentic development, automated testing, DevOps, and observability
Guide colleagues through architectural reviews, code reviews, pair programming, and technical goal setting
Collaborate with product management, design, and engineering teams across global time zones
Define objectives and features with the Director of Product AI R&D
Scope, design, build, evaluate, and ship end-to-end full-stack applications
Drive AWS architecture and execution and integrate AI into core processes
Conduct research, run experiments, and execute on findings
Mentor colleagues and build scalable systems impacting global ecommerce acceleration
Report directly to the Director of Product AI R&D and collaborate with Pattern Labs, Product Managers, Designers, Software Engineers, and AI Engineers

Requirements

5+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering production full-stack applications
Deep familiarity and hands‑on expertise with AWS infrastructure
AWS Solutions Architect Certification strongly preferred, or ability to achieve certification rapidly
Proficiency in back‑end development, such as Python/FastAPI and Node.js
Proficiency in modern front‑end frameworks, such as React
Strong working knowledge of relational databases and SQL
Preference for PostgreSQL or Snowflake
Proven track record of taking 0→1 products or complex cloud initiatives from concept through production launch
Practical experience or high capability with generative AI systems, including prompt and context engineering, vector search and retrieval, and agent orchestration
Experience with agentic development tools, such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Copilot
Ability to speak credibly about LLM reliability, evaluation, guardrails, structured outputs, and failure modes
Ability to collaborate across global time zones
Ability to mentor colleagues and contribute to architectural and code reviews
