ServiceNow is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend to design, develop, and scale an identity security solution for AI agents across enterprise systems. The role emphasizes end-to-end feature ownership, collaboration with product and security teams, and applying AI techniques to strengthen agent security.

The candidate will tackle access risks posed by AI agents, contribute to a high-impact startup vibe, and work on distributed systems with modern cloud technologies.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Golang and Java.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and Microservices architectures.
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Innate love for Distributed Systems (designing, developing, debugging, monitoring).
• Experience: 3+ years in backend software development focused on APIs and microservices.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and IAM services.
• Experience with containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, caching, and distributed systems.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, ownership from ideation to deployment.

• We are looking for a passionate Senior Software Engineer, Backend who will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining the next frontier of Agent Identity Security
• The team is advancing Agent Identity Security as AI agents and copilots rapidly expand across enterprise systems
• The team drives innovation, defines next-generation IGA for non-human identities and agents, and helps shape new industry standards as the AI agent ecosystem evolves
• Its work includes discovering agents, tracking their actions, and defining access management and runtime authorization capabilities to maintain a strong security posture
• In this role, you will tackle the unique access risks posed by AI agents, contributing to a high-impact startup at the cutting edge of Identity and Access Management. This is an exciting opportunity where your key responsibilities will include:
• Architect and Build: Design, develop, and scale a comprehensive identity security solution for AI agents, ensuring it can manage a diverse landscape of agents deployed across different applications and systems
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product management, other engineering teams, and security experts to translate complex security challenges into robust, scalable, and production-grade features
• End-to-End Ownership: Take ownership of the entire feature lifecycle, from initial concept and design through to deployment, monitoring, and maintenance
• AI-Driven Engineering: Leverage AI techniques and tools to advance and strengthen Agent Security product
