Warner Bros. Discovery is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and deliver scalable, cloud-native solutions powering our advertising technology stack.

Based in New York, this role collaborates with product and operations teams to build APIs, data pipelines, and services in a modern, hybrid environment. You will work with Java/Scala/Python, Spark and Kafka on AWS/GCP/Azure, applying security and observability best practices while mentoring junior engineers and guiding partnerships with

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Engineering Expertise: 5+ years in software engineering, with exposure to AdTech or large-scale distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience: Java, Scala, or Python; cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure); SQL and NoSQL; Spark and Kafka.
• AdTech domain knowledge: familiarity with advertising workflows including forecasting and yield optimization.
• Collaboration & mentorship: ability to partner with data scientists, product, and platform engineering, while mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain services for ad-serving, campaign management, and identity systems.
• Design and implement ETL pipelines and real-time data processing for ad performance and yield optimization.
• Migrate legacy systems to modular, cloud-native architectures with observability and security.
• Collaborate with product and operations teams; mentor junior engineers as needed.
