We are seeking a Senior Java Developer for our New York City client. With more than a century of experience, the client is a performing rights organization located in the heart of New York City. They work to protect musicians, and artists of all kinds through advocacy and by protecting copyrighted works and royalty distribution. This job is a full-time position working hybrid in their New York office. Our client is unable to provide sponsorship/visa transfer. No 3rd parties will be considered.

Job Title: Senior Consultant – Java Engineer w/ AWS

Location: New York City (Manhattan), NY (Hybrid)

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, cloud-native applications that meet defined business requirements and adhere to performance, security, and reliability standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams during design sessions to architect optimal backend and API solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs or performance issues across environments with speed and professionalism.
• Continuously monitor application health and diagnose system bottlenecks, proposing improvements for stability and performance.
• Support QA teams, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders by identifying, documenting, and resolving system-related issues.
• Develop and maintain clear, comprehensive technical documentation for code, systems, and processes.

Required Skills & Technologies

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in enterprise application development, with at least 3 years focused on AWS-based cloud applications deployed in production environments.
• Deep hands-on expertise in Java (J2EE) and Spring Boot, with a strong focus on building and maintaining RESTful APIs at scale.
• Proven experience writing Python scripts for backend processes and AWS automation.
• Strong working knowledge of AWS core services, including:
  • Lambda, ECS, CloudWatch, Batch, API Gateway, S3
• Extensive experience with SQL and integrating cloud-native databases such as:
  • PostgreSQL, Oracle, and DynamoDB
• Practical experience with serverless architectures and designing cloud-native applications for scalability and performance.

Compensation: $80 – $90 Hourly, W2 Contract (6month contract w/ possibility of extension)
