Job summary

RTX is seeking a software engineer for an on-site Westford, MA role requiring DoD Secret clearance. You will join a skilled team, develop in C++, Java, and Typescript, mentor others, and integrate software into large engineering systems in a lab environment.

The ideal candidate holds a STEM degree with extensive experience or an advanced degree with relevant years, and is able to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance for U.S. government work.

What You Will Do:

• Perform software development with a highly skilled software team.
• Provide direct support of program efforts and proposal activities.
• Provide mentorship and technical insight into new software components.
• Develop software in multiple languages, including but not limited to C++, Java, Typescript.
• Integrate software into larger systems in engineering and test labs
• This 1st shift role will be 100% on-site and based in Westford, MA.

Qualifications You Must Have :

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior work experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of prior work experience.
• Experience with Linux Java/C++ development with a focus on application scalability and performance.
• This 1st shift role will be 100% on-site and based in Westford, MA.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance post-start is preferred. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• BS degree in Software Engineering or a related major is HIGHLY PREFERRED.
• Algorithm development and/or implementation (imaging, navigation, communication, etc.)
• Familiarity with imaging systems, control systems, navigation, or ISR.
• BS degree in Software Engineering or a related major is HIGHLY PREFERRED. Experience with estimating software tasks for extended periods of time (i.e. longer than 12 months).
• Experience interacting with internal organizations and disciplines. Experience with Kubernetes.
• Experience with Machine Learning concepts. Experience with GPU Programming.
• Ability and desire to facilitate team growth and knowledge transfer.
• Communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.

Onsite : Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
