Decision Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (SEG3) to support a large NAVSEA contract. The role focuses on research, design, and development of software for a 200-person contractor team with potential telework evolving from government approval.

The work location is Washington Navy Yard, Washington, DC. Responsibilities include analyzing user needs, updating software capabilities, and integrating hardware and software with cross-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.
• PMI PMP certification is noted as a certificate.
• Agile software development and software baseline management are preferred.
• Experience with Combat System integration and software testing is valued.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer (SEG3) to support a large support services contract with the Naval Sea Systems Command.

Position Description:

You will provide support to the Program and Deputy Program Manager of a 200 person contractor team that includes subcontractor personnel.

Work location and telework:

The government work location is the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC. Contractors will be required to work at the Navy Yard and in nearby office locations up to 5 days a week. Teleworking may be possible with the customers’ approval but will need to evolve as the work relationships evolve.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Software Engineers research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. They may also perform the following duties:

• Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
• Update or enhance existing software capabilities.
• Work with other functional disciplines (e.g., project management, acquisition, logistics, security, etc.) to integrate hardware and software systems, develop specifications, and performance requirements.
• Maintain databases within an application area.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Certification requirements: None
• Education and experience: There are three different ways to be qualified for this position:

1. A high school degree, or a GED, and twenty (20) years of relevant Surface Radars, Electronic Warfare, EO/IR, Decoys and/or Laser software system/subsystem design, development, production and/or test experience, OR
2. A bachelor’s degree in engineering, scientific, or technical discipline and fifteen (15) years of relevant Surface Radars, Electronic Warfare, EO/IR, Decoys and/or Laser software system/subsystem design, development, production and/or test experience, OR
3. A master’s degree in engineering, scientific, or technical discipline and ten (10) years of relevant Surface Radars, Electronic Warfare, EO/IR, Decoys and/or Laser software system/subsystem design, development, production and/or test experience.

• Active Secret Clearance
• Certificates : Project Management Professional (PMP)

• SW ECP development, ship change processes, maintenance, and SW fielding
• Expertise in software metrics, analytics, tools, and processes

Travel Requirements:

Travel should be infrequent but include occasional trips to support government efforts at East and West Coast naval-centric areas like Norfolk, VA and San Diego, CA.
