Decision Technologies, Inc. seeks a Senior Software Engineer (SEG3) to support a 200-person contractor team at the Washington Navy Yard in DC. You will design, develop, and integrate software with hardware, and coordinate with program management across disciplines.

Applicants must be able to obtain a Secret clearance and have extensive experience in surface radars, EW, EO/IR, decoys or laser software systems. Travel to government facilities on the East/West Coasts may be required.

Competenze

  • Three paths to qualification: high school with 20 years of relevant experience OR a bachelor’s degree with 15 years OR a master’s degree with 10 years.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Senior Software Engineer (SEG3)
Position Description:

You will provide support to the Program and Deputy Program Manager of a 200 person contractor team that includes subcontractor personnel.

Work location and telework:

The government work location is the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC. Contractors will be required to work at the Navy Yard and in nearby office locations up to 5 days a week. Teleworking may be possible with the customers’ approval but will need to evolve as the work relationships evolve.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Software Engineers research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. They may also perform the following duties:

  • Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
  • Update or enhance existing software capabilities.
  • Work with other functional disciplines (e.g., project management, acquisition, logistics, security, etc.) to integrate hardware and software systems, develop specifications, and performance requirements.
  • Maintain databases within an application area.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance

Education and experience: There are three different ways to be qualified for this position:

  • A high school degree, or a GED, and twenty (20) years of relevant Surface Radars, Electronic Warfare, EO/IR, Decoys and/or Laser software system/subsystem design, development, production and/or test experience, OR
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, scientific, or technical discipline and fifteen (15) years of relevant Surface Radars, Electronic Warfare, EO/IR, Decoys and/or Laser software system/subsystem design, development, production and/or test experience, OR
  • A master's degree in engineering, scientific, or technical discipline and ten (10) years of relevant Surface Radars, Electronic Warfare, EO/IR, Decoys and/or Laser software system/subsystem design, development, production and/or test experience.
Preferred / Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Certificates: Project Management Professional (PMP)

  • Agile Software Development
  • Software Baseline Management
  • Combat System integration
  • Developer resource estimation and management
  • Software configuration management
  • Software systems engineering, testing and certification processes
  • SW ECP development, ship change processes, maintenance, and SW fielding
  • Expertise in software metrics, analytics, tools, and processes
Travel Requirements:

Travel should be infrequent but include occasional trips to support government efforts at East and West Coast naval-centric areas like Norfolk, VA and San Diego, CA.

Compensation:

Compensation at Decision Technologies, Inc. is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.

The pay range for this role is:

125,000 - 200,000 USD per year (DC Office)
