Job summary

Alarm.com is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of advanced access control solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and drive technical excellence across our cloud-based platform that manages access control, intrusion detection, and video surveillance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong OO programming; experience with C#/.NET.
• Experience with database design and development (SQL Server preferred).
• Proficiency in developing backend services and APIs.
• Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and messaging (Kafka is a plus).
• Experience working with IoT, hardware, or embedded systems is a plus.

Requirements

• Experience with database design and development (SQL Server preferred).
• Proficiency in developing backend services and APIs.
• Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, event‑driven architecture, and messaging technologies (Kafka is a plus).
• Experience working with IoT, hardware, or embedded systems is a plus.
