Job summary

Fivetran is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Core Experience group. The role focuses on delivering valuable features, improving architecture, and maintaining reliable operation.

This full-time position is based out of our Novi Sad office with a hybrid model (two days in the office per week). You will work on pricing and buying features and collaborate across teams to ship robust software.

Qualifications

• Professional experience writing Java-based applications in production.
• Experience with reliable distributed systems and high-volume data management.
• Ability to write well-structured Java code following industry best practices.
• Experience designing software to satisfy project requirements.
• Expertise with cloud platforms and cloud APIs.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems in existing code.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement functionality for Core Experience area (Pricing and Buying).
• Contribute to feature enhancements and bug fixes.
• Write well-designed, testable code and optimize performance.
• Improve code test coverage and refactor for maintainability.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer in the Core Experience global group to deliver highly valuable features to customers, improve our software architecture, and maintain reliable operation of the service.

This is a full‑time position based out of our Novi Sad office. Our hybrid work model offers a blend of remote flexibility and in‑person collaboration, including two days in the office each week to connect and build as a team.

What You’ll Do

• Implement functionality for Core Experience area of product (Pricing and Buying)
• Contribute to feature enhancements and bug fixes
• Write well‑designed, testable code. Optimize code to make it more performant
• Improve code test coverage. Refactor code for maintainability.
• Follow up on incidents, writing post‑mortems and preparing mitigation plans
• Work closely with teammates to achieve milestone goals. Document work and share information with teammates

Skills We’re Looking For

• Strong coding, technical and problem‑solving skills with professional experience writing Java‑based applications in a production environment
• Experience in reliable distributed systems, with an emphasis on high‑volume data management platforms that operate under strict SLAs
• Write well‑structured Java code following programming best practices
• Specify a software design to satisfy project requirements
• Expertise in working with popular Cloud platforms, Cloud‑based APIs, databases
• Can troubleshoot problems with existing code
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
