Position: Senior Software Engineer

Department: Systems

Working Hours: Monday – Friday 9:00 AM -- 5:00PM EST

Location: Hybrid requiring occasional onsite presence; primarily remote within the greater NYC area.

Wages: This is a temporary-to-permanent role for about 6 months. It will start out hourly with a range of $100-$125 per hour; if/when the individual is hired they will receive an annual salary.

Position Overview

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for the design, development and testing of desktop applications. This role works within an agile development team that is focused on building enterprise grade software systems on top of the Microsoft .NET development stack.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and unit test applications in accordance with corporate standards
• Work within a cross-departmental agile team throughout development process
• Write applications that automate workflows and support the efficiency of internal operations
• Write applications that allow external stakeholders to interface securely with backend processes for straight through processing
• Design and develop data analytics applications with focus on positive client experience and improved business intelligence
• Adhere to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on-time and on-budget
• Brainstorm and present innovative product ideas for future product and business opportunities

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for ensuring that everyone in the application development organization adheres to policies and procedures pertaining to the protection of confidential data, particularly sensitive client information.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related discipline (Engineering or Mathematics)
• 10+ years of related experience
• Solid understanding of object oriented programming concepts
• Strong experience of T-SQL, WPF, C# and .Net framework in the last 5 years
• Strong experience in .Net Core
• Strong experience of interacting with database using ADO.Net, Entity Framework or equivalent ORM Knowledge of Windows desktop application development with WPF, XAML
• Knowledge of using GIT version control systems
• Preferred experience of Writing Unit tests using Unit testing frameworks for .Net
• Preferred experience of creating services with Web API
