Job summary

Red Hat is seeking a software engineer to develop automation scripts, build front-end and back-end systems with React and Flask, and drive ISO26262 safety compliance.

You will mentor juniors, lead Agile processes, perform code reviews for MISRA, and document architectures and APIs. The role supports flexible in-office and remote work across locations.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related role.
  • Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related role.
  • Three (3) years of experience with: pipeline cloud platforms; Infrastructure as code tools to automate infrastructure deployments; Podman and OpenShift to package and deploy applications; programming languages including Python, Golang and Bash; building Front-end and Back-end Web apps using React and Flask; secure coding practices and integration tools for code quality checks and runtime security using Coverity and OSCI tools.

Responsibilities

  • Create detailed technical documentation, including the system architecture diagrams, API specifications and Design definitions.
  • Conduct peer code reviews to ensure compliance with the coding guidelines such as MISRA.
  • Perform static code analysis using Coverity Scan to identify and mitigate the issues.

Job description

What You Will Do

What You Will Bring

  • Must have three (3) years of experience with: pipeline cloud platforms; Infrastructure as code tools to automate the infrastructure deployments and configurations; Podman and OpenShift to package and deploy applications; programing languages including Python, Golang and bash; building Front-end and Back-end Web applications using React and Flask; and secure coding practices and integration tools for code quality checks and runtime security using Coverity scan and OSCI tools.
  • Must have two (2) years of experience with: object-oriented programming principles and design patterns; ISO26262 at least Part-6 Software Development and Safety lifecycle process; tagging, inheriting and building packages; and Configuration Management and Change Management for Functional Safety.

The salary range for this position is $178,214 - $215,300X/year. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications. Pay Transparency Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
