Job summary

Xplor Technologies seeks a Senior Software Engineer to own end-to-end development across frontend and backend layers. You will implement ideas from concept to release using PHP, Symfony/Laravel, HTML5, and modern JS frameworks, while ensuring code quality and security.

You will collaborate with QA and other engineers, refactor legacy code, and deliver reliable features with tests. AWS experience and Agile mindset are a plus in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or MIS preferred or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years with PHP and modern frameworks (Symfony/Laravel).
• Strong HTML5/CSS/JavaScript (jQuery, Vue) and CSS preprocessors.
• Experience with AWS and cloud-based web apps is a plus.
• Familiarity with Jira and Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Translate design docs into functional, releasable code.

The Senior Software Engineer position involves interacting with a variety of individuals internally and externally and at all levels of the organization. Candidate must be driven, organized, detail-oriented, and have excellent communication skills. This position also requires in-depth knowledge of front end and back-end technologies.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Ability to work on both front end and back-end technologies
• Ability to take an idea from concept to reality in an iterative and highly releasable manner
• Ability to take design documents and turn them into functional code
• Ability to work independently and with other members of the team, including Quality Assurance engineers
• Comfortable refactoring/understanding legacy code and moving towards open standards
• Comfortable with writing, editing, and maintaining unit/feature tests
• Structured, disciplined approach to development, testing, and deployment.
• Provide correct bug fixes
• There is direct project oversight, but you are expected to take ownership of your work and your projects, establish deadlines, and communicate progress proactively
• Manage time across multiple projects and tasks in a deadline-driven, team environment.
• Administer critical analysis of test results and deliver solutions to problem areas.
• Generate statistics and write reports for management and/or team members on the status of the programming process.
• Self-management and time management are critical in this role.
• A communication pro -- must be able to explain technical issues to a non-technical person, professionally

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE DESIRED

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS preferred or equivalent experience
• 5 years of extensive experience with PHP, Modern Frameworks (Symfony, Laravel, etc.), HTML5, jQuery, Vue, SASS & CSS
• Experience designing and delivering features using modern AI-assisted development tools (e.g., code generation, debugging, and test automation), applying sound engineering judgment to validate outputs, improve productivity, and maintain high code quality and security standards.
• Experience working with AWS and cloud-based web applications is a plus
• Experienced with Jira and Agile environments
