Job summary

System One is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to drive testing for embedded software, firmware, and hardware-integrated products. The role focuses on developing test strategies, creating detailed test plans, and executing manual and automated tests on embedded systems.

You will analyze requirements, document results, troubleshoot defects, and collaborate with engineering and quality teams to ensure high product quality on onsite work.

Qualifications

• Manual and automated testing experience with embedded systems.
• Experience creating test plans and protocols for HW/SW/FW.
• Working knowledge of command-line tools is a plus.
• Familiarity with regulatory environments (510K) is a plus.

Compensation: $65- $73/hr
Work Model: Onsite
Hours: 9am - 5pm

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and strategies for embedded software, firmware, and hardware-integrated products.
• Analyze requirements and create detailed test cases, test plans, and test protocols.
• Perform manual and automated testing of embedded systems, especially HW and SW/FW, and document results.
• Troubleshoot defects, perform root cause analysis, and verify outcomes.
• Use command-line tools, log files, physical probing, and other electrical or mechanical test methods as needed.
• Prepare clear and accurate test reports summarizing execution results, defects, trends, corrective actions, and verification outcomes.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and project teams to ensure testing activities align with project timelines and quality standards.
• Continuously improve testing methods and overall product quality.

Requirements

• Analyze requirements and create detailed test cases, test plans, and test protocols.
• Manual and automated testing experience with embedded systems, including hardware and firmware.
• Troubleshoot defects and conduct root cause analysis.
• Use command-line tools (nice to have).
• Working knowledge of C++ and C# (nice to have).
• FDA product experience and regulatory knowledge (510K submissions) (nice to have).
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
