Connect-AI in San Francisco is seeking a Member of Technical Staff or Senior Member of Technical Staff to build, scale and own our Voice AI simulation platform, focusing on Python-based infrastructure, ML workflows and real-time systems.
You'll work closely with product and customers, tackle outages, latency and cost, and own projects from design to production in a fast-paced, hands-on environment onsite in San Francisco.
$160,000–$300,000 + equity, depending on level and experience
What happens when an AI voice agent sounds great in a demo, but doesn’t behave the way it should with real customers?
That’s the problem we’re solving.
We’re building simulation, evaluation and observability infrastructure for Voice AI, helping companies test how agents behave, spot failure modes and improve performance before and after they reach customers.
The platform already handles millions of calls every month, creating interesting engineering challenges across Python, AI/ML, databases, distributed systems, AWS and real-time infrastructure.
To help push that mission further, we’re now looking for engineers to join at Member of Technical Staff or Senior Member of Technical Staff level.
Experience with LLMs, ML systems, database architecture, AI evaluations, benchmarking, AWS, real-time systems or Voice AI is particularly relevant, but direct Voice AI experience isn’t essential.
We’re particularly interested in engineers who have personally helped systems scale through significant growth.
Maybe you redesigned a database when the existing architecture reached its limits. Maybe you took infrastructure from millions to tens or hundreds of millions of transactions. Maybe you led a migration or made difficult calls around availability, latency, reliability and cost.
The important part is that you didn’t just work around scale. You helped solve it.
The engineering team is small, experienced and very hands-on. You’ll work close to the product and customers, have genuine influence over technical decisions and take ideas all the way through to production.
The pace is high and the bar is high too. Things move quickly, engineers carry real responsibility and there’s an expectation that you’ll get stuck into problems rather than wait for perfect specs or layers of approval.
In return, you get a level of ownership, visibility and technical influence that’s hard to find in a much larger engineering organization.
onsite in San Francisco five days a week, so you’ll need to be based nearby or willing to relocate. This role is currently open to US citizens only.
