Software Engineer (C++)

Position Overview
We are seeking experienced Software Engineers to support the development and sustainment of mission-critical ground systems in a secure, classified environment. This role offers the opportunity to work on advanced software solutions that support national security initiatives while collaborating with a highly skilled engineering team.
This position is 100% on-site in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) located in Redondo Beach, California.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain C++ software applications in an Agile development environment.
- Design, implement, and unit test new software capabilities based on system and algorithm requirements.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects.
- Collaborate with software engineers, subject matter experts, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Support software development on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) virtual machines, servers, and workstations.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 5-8 years of relevant experience, or
- Master's degree with 3-6 years of experience, or
- Ph.D. with 1-4 years of experience.
- An additional four years of relevant software engineering experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Active U.S. Government security clearance with the ability to obtain SCI access.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Strong object-oriented programming skills with advanced proficiency in C++.
- Experience working with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with DevSecOps and automated testing.
- Proficiency with one or more programming or scripting languages, including C, C++, Java, Python, or Perl.
- Strong understanding of mathematics and algorithm development.
- Experience working in Agile Scrum environments.
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools such as Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Bamboo.
- Experience developing software in Linux environments using Git.
- Active SCI clearance.
