AeroVironment is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the AV PRIME contract team. You will support development of the Tactical Edge Platform, containerize key apps, and ensure DevOps is integrated across the stack.

The role requires deep AI/ML familiarity and collaboration with developers to optimize integration. Responsibilities include scaling and securing container platforms, assessing performance, and working independently or with the team to meet critical mission needs.

Qualifications

• 20 years of SWE experience in programs/contracts of similar scope.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline; 4 years additional SWE experience may substitute for a degree.

AV PRIME contract is seeking a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer to perform as part of a team supporting the development of the Tactical Edge Platform. The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Supports, integrates, scales, documents, and secures all aspects of the virtual compute and container platforms that make up the Tactical Edge Platform
• Works with developers to ensure compliance with optimal integration
• Ensures DevOps policies are integrated throughout the stack
• Conducts assessments to ensure the platforms meet required performance specifications
• Containerizes key applications identified by mission lead
• Understanding of standard AI / ML data formats for models, weights, and data interchange.

Additional Information

• Work performed in the contractor facility in Annapolis Junction.
• Partial telework available
• Both low and high side access

Qualification Requirements

• Twenty (20) years of experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

Requirements

• Experience developing/integrating capabilities while leveraging software containerization technologies (K8s, Rancher, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
• Experience developing and maintaining micro-services in a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
• Experience working with varying and contrasting communications and data formats
• Deep understanding of AI/ML capabilities within client environment.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively within a team environment.
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph

• Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance
• Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design
• Design or implement complex algorithms requiring adherence to strict timing, system resource, or interface constraints
• Confer with system engineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces
• Select the software development process in coordination with the customer and system engineering

Salary Range

Salary Range: $150,000 - $260,000
