Job summary

AeroVironment, based in Chantilly, VA, seeks a DevOps Software Engineer to join a national security-focused project. You will develop and maintain custom applications and scripts across multiple platforms, collaborating with internal teams, the program manager, and customer teams.

Strong communication and Agile experience are essential. The role involves implementing improvements, maintaining architecture, and coordinating with mission partners and vendors as needed.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance.
• Demonstrated custom development experience on Linux-based servers and appliances.
• 3+ years of experience using Rust and/or Python to develop applications/services.
• Experience with Rust strongly preferred; quick learner of new languages acceptable.
• Automations using Ansible.
• Custom apps using Docker containers.
• Maintaining custom application code bases.
• Strong written/verbal communication, problem solving, organization and collaboration skills.
• Team player and individual contributor; familiar with agile development.

Summary

AV is seeking a DevOps Software Engineer to join an established customer-facing project supporting U.S. national security. The ideal candidate will have experience with custom applications and scripts across multiple platforms and implementing improvements to existing software solutions. This position requires strong ability to communicate with internal team members across multiple areas, the program manager, and customer team members. In addition, the successful candidate will regularly engage with external parties such as mission partners and vendors as required.

Position Responsibilities

• Develop and/or modify custom applications and scripts implemented across multiple platforms
• Maintain custom software applications and services

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)

• Demonstrate strong written/verbal communications, problem solving, organizational and interpersonal skills including willingness and ability to document and share information
