Job summary

Toyota is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Financial Services Enterprise Platforms team in Plano, TX. You will build and maintain cloud-based platforms, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and own end-to-end development from design to production.

You will work with Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, ReactJS, TypeScript, and Python on AWS. Kubernetes-based microservices, REST APIs, and observable systems are core aspects of this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in a technical discipline (CS, CE, IT).
• Proven programming skills in modern languages such as Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, ReactJS, TypeScript, Python.
• Experience delivering Kubernetes-based microservices on AWS in regulated environments.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, design patterns, and coding standards.
• Experience with test-driven development and clean, reusable code.
• Experience building observable systems and distributed services.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support end-to-end solutions using full-stack tools and technologies.
• Pursue operational excellence, building fault-tolerant and secure services.
• Mentor team members and promote Agile best practices.
• Work with Product Owners to translate business needs into robust cloud-based solutions.
• Design and deliver solutions leveraging RDBMS/NoSQL, containers, AWS services, and event-driven patterns.
• Contribute to recruitment, team growth, and code quality through peer reviews.

Along with willingness to take an active role in their career trajectory; the Senior Java Developer tasked with working with product owners to understand business requirements, integrating architectural direction into designs and producing comprehensive functional/technical code for platforms and applications.

This position is based in Plano, TX. The selected candidate will be expected toresidewithin a commutable distance of this location.

• Design and deliver solutions thatleverageRDBMS and NoSQL Databases, Container Orchestration Services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of AWS tools and services.
• Experience with designing and building event driven systems for asynchronous communication between systems and components
• Contribute to team development including recruiting efforts, mentorship, and promoting Agile best practices.

What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with5or more years of experienceintechnicaldiscipline, including computer science, computer engineering, information systems, and information technology.
• Intermediate to advanced programming skills in one or more modern languages such asJava, Spring Boot,Nodejs, ReactJS, TypeScript, Java or Python to design, develop andmaintaincustomer experienceson AWS cloud platform.
• Proventrack recorddelivering Kubernetes-based microservices on AWS in a regulated or compliance-sensitive environment.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
• Skilled at delivering high-quality, clean, and reusable code using Test-Driven Development (TDD), object-oriented design, and testing for responsive web applications.
• Strongproficiencyin developing scalable and resilient RESTmicroservicesAPIs.
• Experience building software using design patterns, best practices, and coding standards.
• Demonstrated experience with version control practices, including branching, merging, and code review processes.
• Experience building observable systems to track the performance of distributed services, trace issues, and troubleshoot failures.
• Conduct peer/codereviewstomaintainthe codequality beforepromoting the code to production.

• Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks: SOX, PCI-DSS, or GDPR.
