Job summary

Markono Group Pte Ltd's Moonshot Innovations team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to contribute technical expertise and fresh thinking to strengthen our printing, warehousing and distribution capabilities.

You will design, build and operate scalable, secure applications and microservices, integrate with internal and third-party platforms, and accelerate delivery with AI-assisted tooling such as Claude Code, while ensuring reliability on AWS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years delivering and operating production software systems.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Python, C# or TypeScript / Node.js with modern front-end exposure.
• Experience with APIs, microservices, distributed systems, SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Experience with AWS, containers, CI/CD, automated testing and observability.
• Hands-on use of AI-assisted development tools, preferably Claude Code.

Job Overview

Moonshot Innovations, Markono Group’s technology team, develops software that strengthens the Group’s integrated print, warehousing, fulfilment and distribution capabilities. The Senior Software Engineer will contribute technical expertise and fresh thinking to create solutions that enhance customer value, enable business growth and support Markono’s ambition to market, print and deliver books more quickly and sustainably.

Key Responsibilities

Software Delivery & Architecture

• Design, build and maintain scalable, secure applications and microservices-based systems supporting printing, manufacturing, warehousing, distribution and e-commerce workflows
• Develop APIs and integrations with internal and third-party platforms
• Use approved AI-assisted development tools, including Claude Code, to accelerate software delivery
• Ensure code quality, security, performance and maintainability

DevOps, CI / CD & Cloud Platforms

• Build automated tests and CI / CD pipelines
• Deploy and support reliable services on AWS
• Work with infrastructure teams on monitoring, logging, backup, and disaster recovery
• Ensure production stability and efficient incident response

Printing & Operations Enablement

• Support software systems integrated with printing equipment, manufacturing lines, and operational workflows
• Work with operations teams to translate process requirements into system capabilities
• Ensure system readiness for SIT, UAT, go-live, and post-go-live support
• Provide technical guidance during operational incidents and production issues

Governance, Risk & Accountability

• Identify and address technical, security and delivery risks
• Comply with cybersecurity, data protection and responsible AI policies
• Ensure clear ownership boundaries between IT, business, and vendors
• Maintain proper documentation, handover, and knowledge transfer

Engineering Team Leadership

• Lead technical design and code reviews
• Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices
• Partner with product and operations teams to deliver agreed outcomes

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
• At least 5 years' software engineering experience delivering and operating production systems
• Strong proficiency in Java, Python, C# or TypeScript / Node.js, with exposure to modern front-end frameworks
• Strong system-design fundamentals and hands-on experience with APIs, microservices, distributed systems and SQL / NoSQL databases
• Experience building e-commerce, digital-content, marketplace or transaction platforms; exposure to digital rights, payments or fulfilment is advantageous
• Hands-on use of AI-assisted development tools, preferably Claude Code, with disciplined validation of generated output
• Experience with AWS, containers, CI / CD, automated testing, observability and production support
• Strong ownership, secure-coding discipline, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to mentor and influence across teams
