Job summary

Mashgin is hiring to advance vision and AI software for kiosk-based checkout solutions in Palo Alto. You will design and implement high‑performance image processing and scalable software for edge devices, collaborating with hardware and software teams to ship production systems.

The role requires a Master’s degree or equivalent and at least one year of related experience, with strong proficiency in C++ and Python, Linux tooling, and production-grade code.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 1 year of software engineering experience.
• Experience designing and optimizing high‑performance image processing software for edge deployments.
• Proficient in C++ and Python and in building production-scale codebases.
• Experience with multi-camera image processing pipelines and debugging camera systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design new algorithms for image processing and scalable software systems using C/C++ and Python.
• Develop and execute large-scale data collection for training neural networks.
• Improve existing computer vision methods with new algorithms.
• Research and maintain state-of-the-art ML algorithms for image analysis.

Job Duties:

• Develop and design new algorithms for image processing and analysis, and scalable software systems using C/C++ and Python.




• Develop and execute large-scale data collection techniques for training Deep Neural Networks.




• Drive and develop new algorithms to dramatically improve existing computer vision methods.




• Research and maintain state-of-the-art ML algorithms for image analysis.




• Debug and resolve production vision system issues through algorithm tuning and software-level fixes for kiosks deployed in diverse physical locations.




• Code full-stack building products from end to end.




• Build production-ready code.




• Work with a small interdisciplinary team in hardware, software, and design to build new versions of products from scratch.




• Conduct continuous improvement and maintenance of code already in production.




• Develop scalable software systems for deployment on edge devices. Work with multi-camera systems. Build software for real-time image processing.

Minimum Requirements:

• A Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field;




• One year of experience in a software engineering or related role;




• Must have one year of experience with designing and optimizing high-performance image processing software systems for deployment on edge devices;Developing and optimizing software within large-scale production codebases using C++ and Python;Working on multi-camera image processing pipelines to support advanced camera functionalities;Debugging and resolving camera image processing issues through algorithm tuning and software-level fixes;Performing debugging and analysis using log inspection, intermediate output validation, and debugging tools;Utilizing Bash and Python scripts for large-scale log processing and automation of debugging workflows; andWorking in Linux environments and using tools such as Git, Make, and testing frameworks for software validation.
