Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated engineer to join the Access and Visitor Management team. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will contribute innovative ideas and tools to support one of our major initiatives, which is supporting products across our platform. You will collaborate with a highly professional team to ensure the timely delivery of products and maintain elevated development practices and standards.

To excel in this role, you should possess experience working with complex applications, distributed systems, or microservices, demonstrating an understanding of the associated challenges and opportunities. You thrive in a collaborative environment where your contributions directly impact engineers across the whole company. As a proponent of agile software processes, you uphold strong values in terms of testing practices. Your enthusiasm extends to collaborating with fellow engineers through activities such as code reviews, pair programming, and architecture design. Your ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams will contribute to the success of the projects. To succeed in this role, you have:

  • Full stack development experience with a language-agnostic mindset; proficiency in Golang, TypeScript, or SQL is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and familiarity with Kubernetes and AI-powered development tools like Cursor.
  • Strong understanding of databases, system architecture, and the application of system design and OOP principles.
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable code with attention to quality; unit testing experience is a bonus.
  • Proven mentorship skills and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams and squads.
  • Open-minded, adaptable, and eager to contribute to a culture of learning, growth, and shared success.

Pay TransparencyAt VTS, we pride ourselves on articulating a clear and transparent philosophy around equitable, impartial compensation that will allow us to recruit and retain an exceptional team. The base salary is market-driven at the time of offer and is based on tier 1 market data. The salary for this role will range between $143,181 and $175,000 and is determined by several factors, including your skills, prior relevant experience, quality of interviews, leveling, and geography.
