Our technology is central to how we serve clients and empower our internal teams, and we’re looking for a senior engineering leader—strongly versed in Ruby on Rails—to help shape the future of our technical operations.

We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer with deep Ruby on Rails expertise to take long-term ownership of our internal software systems. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role responsible for maintaining, evolving, and scaling the technology that drives our core business. You will lead a team of engineers, drive architecture and code quality, and ensure that our systems are secure, reliable, and aligned with company goals.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Architect, develop, and maintain secure, high-performance applications using Ruby on Rails.
2. Provide technical leadership across the engineering function, including architecture, security, and system reliability.
3. Lead a team of engineers, offering mentorship, code reviews, and guidance on best practices.
4. Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, compliance, and leadership teams to continuously improve business workflows through technology.
5. Oversee the full development lifecycle: planning, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
6. Ensure all systems are compliant with HIPAA and other applicable data protection and industry standards.
7. Maintain and optimize existing systems while planning for future scalability and performance improvements.
8. Establish internal documentation standards and ensure technical knowledge is retained and shared across the team.

Qualifications

14+ years of experience in software development, with at least 4 years in a senior or lead engineering role.

1. 5+ years of hands-on Ruby on Rails development, with a track record of architecting and scaling Rails applications.
2. Strong understanding of backend and frontend technologies (e.g., React, Django, Vue.js, Node.js).
3. Proven experience leading high-impact projects and managing engineering teams.
4. Demonstrated knowledge of secure systems design and experience working with protected data (e.g., in healthcare, legal, or financial tech).
5. Proficiency in cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and CI/CD practices.
6. Excellent communicator with strong organizational and documentation skills.
7. A proactive mindset and ability to align engineering efforts with long-term business strategy.
