Job summary

Nibbana is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and build backend services, APIs, and data-intensive workflows powering a climate-tech platform. You’ll handle large, messy datasets and ship production software quickly with a strong focus on reliability and performance.

Join a hands-on IC role where you own projects end-to-end, shape engineering standards, and collaborate with product, data, and business teams to deliver scalable, observable systems.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on software engineering experience building production systems.
• Strong backend engineering fundamentals: API design, system design, data modeling, async processing, reliability, and performance.
• Strong production TypeScript experience, with real fluency in strict typing and type-safe design.
• Experience building backend services with Node.js; Fastify experience is a strong plus.
• Experience with Python for backend services, data workflows, or internal tooling; FastAPI experience is a plus.
• Experience building data-intensive applications or systems that process large datasets.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or similar.
• High ownership mindset, strong execution, and the ability to move quickly without compromising quality.

The Role:

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer who is strong in backend systems, comfortable working with large and messy datasets, and able to ship reliable production software quickly. This is a hands-on IC role for someone who can take ambiguous business and data problems, design the right technical approach, and deliver high-quality systems end-to-end. You’ll work on backend services, APIs, data processing workflows, integrations, and cloud infrastructure that power Nibbana’s core platform.

What We’re Looking For:

• Early experience in climate, sustainability, agriculture, or supply-chain data
