Job summary

Pave Finance, Inc. invites an experienced Software Engineer to join our trading-focused team in New York City.

You will contribute across the stack to scale a ML-driven platform used by advisors and institutions, collaborating with a diverse, high-caliber group of professionals. Requirements include 3+ years in software engineering, a CS/SWE degree, and strong Python/TypeScript skills, with a passion for clean code, scalable system design, and data-driven decision making.

Pave is on a mission to democratize wealth management by taking a tool previously only available to billionaires and scaling it to be the backbone of investment management everywhere. Our platform is powered by a proprietary and highly extensible ML algorithm. Our primary clients are investment advisors, institutions and fintechs that use our product to build personalized investment strategies and automate trading across entire books of business.

Pave’s secret sauce is our proprietary portfolio management machine learning algorithm and supporting infrastructure. This is a prime focus of our growing Trading team. Our features & trade offerings are constantly expanding as we tackle our biggest challenge yet: scaling. We need to develop intentionally to ensure we do right by our users and their clients; many of whom have their retirement savings managed with our software. We’re looking for a Software Engineer with some experience in the financial industry to help us on our mission.

Description

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, a BSc in Software Engineering or Computer Science or higher degree is a nice to have.
• Experience working in the financial services industry
• Comfortable contributing across the stack
• Strongly preferred:
• Proficiency in Python/TypeScript
• Experience with model testing and data analysis
• Collaboration abilities in cross-functional startup environments with mentoring experience and strong technical communication skills
• Have led complex migrations or built infra from scratch in a zero-to-one setting
• Skilled at automating and abstracting painful manual workflows
• Enjoy writing clean code, thinking about system design, and scaling both systems and developer productivity
• Are proactive, low-ego, and comfortable owning projects end-to-end
