Job summary

Albert Bow is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to scale the core backend systems behind an AI-powered clinical review platform. You will own significant projects end-to-end and design fault-tolerant services.

You will work with a small team, mentoring engineers and partnering with product and customer teams. The role is hybrid in New York City, with 4 days in office. Visa sponsorship is not available.

A well-funded, rapidly growing Series A healthcare AI startup is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to help scale the core systems behind an AI-powered clinical review platform.

You'll join a small engineering team at an important stage of growth, working directly with senior technical and product leadership. This is a hands-on role with significant ownership, where you'll design fault-tolerant backend systems, build AI-driven data and document-processing workflows, and help establish engineering standards as the platform scales.

What you'll do

• Design and build scalable backend systems using Python, TypeScript, and AWS.
• Own complex projects from product requirements and architecture through production.
• Build data extraction, document-processing and API-driven workflows.
• Improve system reliability, observability and fault tolerance.
• Translate ambiguous business and customer needs into pragmatic technical solutions.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and architectural guidance.
• Partner closely with product and customer-facing teams.

What we're looking for

• 6+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Strong professional experience with Python, TypeScript, and AWS.
• At least 2 years at a venture-backed, high-growth startup.
• Experience building and scaling distributed systems in production.
• Clear end-to-end ownership of high-impact engineering projects.
• Strong systems-design fundamentals and ability to explain architectural trade-offs.
• Stable career progression, ideally including internal promotions.
• Excellent communication and a product-first approach.
• Ability to work from the NYC office Monday through Thursday.
• Existing permanent U.S. work authorization; visa sponsorship is not available.
