Job summary

Cruxx, a MedTech company in the United States, is hiring a senior software engineering leader to own a Python-heavy platform built around computer vision and ML for live clinical use.

This player-coach role reports to a hands-on CTO. You will lead a small, capable team of software and AI engineers, and you will write and review code yourself.

Qualifications

Our client is a MedTech company is hiring its senior software engineering leader. The product is a complex physical system with a Python-heavy stack built around computer vision and machine learning, and the software has to be fast, reliable and provable in a clinical environment.

This is a player-coach role reporting into a hands-on, technically credible CTO. You will lead a small, capable team of software and AI engineers, and you will write and review code yourself.

What you will do:

• Own software delivery across the platform: architecture, performance, code quality and release discipline
• Solve a real performance-to-market problem: this system does heavy computation and it has to run fast enough for live clinical use
• Set the engineering bar in a world of AI-assisted coding. Speed matters here, but in a medical device every line has to stand up to scrutiny, so you will define how the team uses these tools without letting quality slip
• Build the practices a regulated software team needs, without drowning a startup in process
• Grow the team through the next phase of hiring

Who you are:

• A strong engineer first, a leader second. You still ship
• Deep experience with Python and performance-critical systems; computer vision or ML experience strongly preferred
• You have raised the quality and speed of a team before, and can show how
• Experience with regulated software (medical devices, IEC 62304 or similar safety-critical domains) is a significant advantage
• You care about doing it right and doing it fast, and you do not accept that those are opposites
