Job summary

Boeing in Maryland is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain robust software solutions in a collaborative environment.

You will lead technical efforts on high‑impact projects, work with the Chief Engineer to define feature specs, and participate in design and code reviews. Hybrid work options and security clearance requirements apply.

This role requires strong experience in agile practices, Jira/Confluence, and multiple programming languages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline with 14+ years of experience.
• Four years of experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• Experience with Agile software development, Jira & Confluence.

• Complete medium to large features independently without guidance.
• Identify and drive changes as needed for assigned codebase, product area, or systems.

Experience and Qualifications

Required Education and Years of Experience

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline with 14+ years of experience
• Four years of experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree

Required Qualifications

• An active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
• Experience assisting with development & execution of test procedures for software components
• Experience with generating & reviewing software/technical documentation
• Experience working in an Agile software development environment
• Experience using Jira and Confluence
• Experience with the following software development skills: Git, Java, C++, and/or Python, Relational database such as Postgres

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes, HAProxy, Nginx, Elastic Stack

Telework / Remote Availability

Hybrid work authorized, up to 16 hours per week, depending on team and workload

Summary Pay Range

$175,000 - $210,000
