Job Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer who is passionate about hands-on coding and eager to work directly with business users, technical teams, and vendors. This role is a mix of senior individual contributor and team leader—ideal for someone who thrives in small, agile environments, enjoys solving business problems, and delivers software quickly. You’ll work primarily with Microsoft Azure, C#, and SQL Server. The focus is on building, deploying, and maintaining solutions while communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level software solutions using C#, .NET, and Microsoft Azure.
• Take ownership of hands-on coding, testing, deployment, and troubleshooting.
• Manage, build, and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate with internal and third-party systems.
• Maintain and update legacy desktop applications written in C# (DevExpress UI), with SQL Server backend.
• Collaborate directly with business users (primarily VP and director level) to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
• Translate complex technical topics into clear, concise updates for non-technical stakeholders.
• Act as a technical lead on small projects—guide and mentor team members as needed, including offshore developers and vendor partners.
• Ensure vendors and consultants deliver high-quality work on time; hold them accountable for integration and project deliverables.
• Participate in code reviews, and help establish lightweight best practices for agile delivery (no formal Agile/Scrum required).
• Ensure software compliance with basic healthcare privacy (PHI) guidelines (if coming from outside healthcare, willingness to learn is expected).
• Support and participate in CI/CD and DevOps practices as projects require.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of hands-on software development experience, with at least 3 years in Microsoft Azure and C#/.NET.
• Demonstrated experience designing, building, and deploying modern software systems.
• Recent, strong hands-on coding ability—at least 50% of the role is active coding.
• Experience working with RESTful APIs and integrating third-party software.
• Strong experience in relational database design and development (SQL Server preferred).
• Experience working with or managing offshore development and vendor teams.
• Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to business stakeholders.
• Experience in small, self-directed teams (4-7 people); able to operate with minimal supervision.

Skills:

Must-Have:

• Deep hands-on coding skills in C#/.NET and Microsoft Azure (beyond Power Automate, SharePoint, or Power BI).
• Strong SQL Server experience (design, stored procedures, performance tuning).
• RESTful API development and integration.
• Ability to communicate technical information simply and directly to business users and vendors.
• Self-starter, eager to “get it done” and take ownership of projects from start to finish.
• Able to work both independently and as a collaborative team member.

Highly Desirable:

• Experience with Python, T-SQL, JIRA, Git, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and test automation.
• Exposure to healthcare data privacy and PHI handling (willingness to learn if not already experienced).
• Experience supporting or working alongside offshore teams.

Nice-to-Have:

• Familiarity with Windows Forms, client/server architectures.
• Understanding of basic project management methodologies.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
