Nevro is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in PC-based and iOS development to contribute from concept through deployment of implantable medical device software.
You will lead technical design for PC-based, mobile, and firmware applications, apply SOLID, TDD/BDD, integrate automated testing, and collaborate with UX, product, and QA to deliver compliant, high-quality solutions in a regulated environment. Mentor teammates and shape Nevro's digital ecosystem.
The Senior Software Engineer position requires a specialty in PC- based and development and experience in iOS development. The candidate is expected to participate in research and product development activities ranging from product concept through transfer to manufacturing, deployment, and upgrade of computers in the field. This position will apply knowledge of engineering principles and practices for software development of implantable medical devices and accessories.
Leads technical design development on PC-based, mobile, and/or firmware software applications, and the protocols with which they interact.
Conducts development activities that include requirements definition, design, implementation, and verification / validation.
Drives adherence to Clean Architecture, SOLID principles, and test-first development practices (TDD, BDD with Gherkin).
Debugs and analyzes device issues in the field and field returns.
Develops software in a regulated environment in accordance with internal operating procedures and external standards and regulations, ensures compliance with regulatory standards (FDA, ISO, IEC 62304) and contributes to documentation for Class III medical devices.
Implements and maintains automated testing frameworks ( GTest , JUnit, Compose UI Testing, XCTest ) and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
Work closely with UX designers, product managers, and QA to deliver human-centered, high-quality solutions.
Conducts cross-functional reviews of the software at appropriate times in the development cycle.
Determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results under collaborative self-direction.
Applies technical principles, theories, and concepts, in addition to developing new principles and concepts towards the solution of complex technical problems and provides solutions which are innovative and ingenious.
Proactively identifies areas of developmental risk and communicates these to the team accordingly.
Develops software in a regulated environment in accordance with internal operating procedures and external standards and regulations.
Works in accordance with quality system procedures and actively enforces its objectives.
Mentors team members and contribute to architectural decisions that shape the future of Nevro's digital ecosystem.

B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related engineering or scientific field.
A minimum of 6-8 years of relevant experience in software design, coding, and technical leadership.
Equivalent years of experience may trade off with the education requirement.
Experience in C#, .NET development (Visual Studio, C#, .NET).
Experience in iOS (Swift) development.
Familiarity with embedded firmware is a plus.

Familiarity with automating integration test development for a C# .NET GUI application (WPF, WinForms, Win32) is a plus.
Good knowledge of software engineering principles.
Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Familiarity with test‑driven development is a plus.
Familiarity with Agile environments is a plus.
Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
Experience in regulated environments (FDA, ISO, IEC 62304) and medical device development.
Knowledge of cross‑discipline methods and services, and willingness to learn beyond basic development.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and collaborative development practices.
Required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Required to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
