About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a leading global law firm seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its growing Data & AI Engineering team.
This position offers the opportunity to build modern, scalable, enterprise-grade applications, with a strong emphasis on greenfield development rather than maintaining legacy systems.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on full-stack engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, taking ownership of application features, and contributing to technical design and architecture decisions.
The engineering team values strong technical fundamentals, collaboration, problem-solving, and the ability to learn new technologies. While the primary stack includes .NET, React/Next.js, and Azure, candidates with comparable technical backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable full-stack web applications using technologies such as C#, .NET, React/Next.js, TypeScript, and Azure
- Take ownership of complex application features from technical design through implementation, deployment, and production support
- Contribute to software architecture, application design, and technical decision-making
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud-based application services
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and business stakeholders to define requirements and deliver new application capabilities
- Write clean, maintainable, secure, and well-tested code
- Participate in code reviews, peer design discussions, and collaborative problem-solving
- Troubleshoot and optimize application performance across frontend applications, APIs, services, and databases
- Apply security best practices, including authentication, authorization, and data protection
- Work alongside dedicated DevOps engineers to support CI/CD pipelines, cloud deployments, and production operations
- Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to less experienced engineers
- Explore opportunities to improve engineering productivity through modern development practices and AI-assisted tools
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum 5 years of professional software engineering experience, excluding internships
- Strong proficiency in C#/.NET, React/Next.js, Azure, or comparable development technologies
- Experience designing and developing scalable RESTful APIs and backend services
- Understanding of software design patterns, object-oriented programming, and application architecture
- Hands-on experience with relational or NoSQL databases, such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB
- Experience delivering production-quality software with attention to performance, reliability, security, and maintainability
- Familiarity with Git, Agile development methodologies, and collaborative code reviews
- Understanding of cloud deployment concepts and CI/CD practices
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing greenfield applications and building new software capabilities from the ground up
- Experience independently owning complex application features and contributing to technical architecture
- Strong experience with React, Next.js, TypeScript, C#/.NET, and Microsoft Azure
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Azure Container Apps, or similar containerization technologies
- Familiarity with serverless computing and cloud-native application architecture
- Experience implementing automated testing frameworks and unit testing practices
- Exposure to application performance monitoring, observability, and production troubleshooting
- Experience developing or integrating AI-enabled capabilities, including intelligent search, document summarization, knowledge assistants, or LLM-based services
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar technologies
- Experience mentoring junior engineers or providing technical guidance through code reviews and peer collaboration
