alliant is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and enhance enterprise software applications, AI-driven solutions, and cloud platforms. You will work across distributed teams across the United States and India, translating complex requirements into scalable technical solutions.

The ideal candidate has deep experience in cloud computing, data architecture, enterprise integrations, and modern AI technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Software/Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven experience designing and building production enterprise software systems.
• Strong software architecture and system design expertise.
• Experience with AI-powered applications, data-intensive systems, or enterprise integrations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Must be onsite in Houston, TX five days per week.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and support scalable enterprise applications and technology platforms.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions and reusable APIs and services.
• Lead architectural reviews, define integrations and data flows, and evaluate trade-offs for scalability, performance, security, and cost.
• Design and implement AI-powered solutions leveraging generative AI, AI agents, ML, and enterprise systems.
• Design and develop modern data architectures and pipelines for diverse data types (structured, unstructured, relational, graph, vector).
• Ensure security, scalability, reliability, fault tolerance, performance, and compliance; mitigate risks.
• Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices within Agile teams.

Job description

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design, build, and enhance enterprise software applications, AI-driven solutions, and cloud-based technology platforms. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong software development expertise, architectural thinking, and the ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

The ideal candidate has deep experience in software engineering, cloud computing, data architecture, enterprise integrations, and modern AI technologies. In this role, you will contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, from architecture and design through implementation, deployment, optimization, and support.

This role works closely with software engineers, product managers, architects, AI specialists, data engineers, and business stakeholders across distributed teams in the United States and India.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and support scalable, secure, and well-documented enterprise applications and technology platforms throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions and develop reusable applications, APIs, frameworks, and services while improving system performance, reliability, and security.
• Design and document application and system architectures, lead architectural reviews, define integrations and data flows, and evaluate trade-offs related to scalability, performance, security, maintainability, and cost.
• Design and implement AI-powered solutions leveraging generative AI, AI agents, machine learning, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), large language models, Azure AI services, Azure AI Search, Semantic Kernel, and enterprise business systems.
• Design and develop modern data architectures and pipelines supporting structured, unstructured, relational, graph, and vector-based data for AI and analytics solutions.
• Ensure solutions meet security, scalability, reliability, fault tolerance, performance, and compliance requirements while proactively mitigating technical risks and vulnerabilities.
• Mentor engineers, promote engineering best practices, collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to Agile delivery processes, and communicate technical plans, risks, and status to stakeholders.

Technical Qualifications

Strong experience with:

• React or Angular
• HTML, CSS
• SQL and database design
• REST APIs and enterprise integrations
• Cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure
• Distributed systems and application architecture
• Data engineering and data architecture
• Generative AI and machine learning technologies
• Git, Azure DevOps, Jira, and modern development tools

• Graph databases, vector databases, and search technologies
• Salesforce and enterprise SaaS integrations
