Job summary

C.H. Robinson is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Master Data Management team within Technology. You will build a technical vision for geography data services and execute using open source and paid data services to mature the geography system in master data.

You will contribute to quoting, rating, booking, tracking, and delivery of shipments. Based in MN, IL, or Kansas City, you will lead a team of engineers, design scalable solutions, and drive adoption of modern architectures

Qualifications

• 6+ years designing and implementing large‑scale software products across multiple systems.
• Experience delivering POCs and turning ideas into working solutions.
• Ability to lead and mentor engineering teams.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Experience with modern development languages (C#/.NET Core).
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases (SQL/Oracle, MongoDB/Elastic/Cosmos).

C.H Robinson is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Master Data Management team within Technology. In this role, you will be responsible for building a comprehensive technical vision and executing on that vision using both open source and paid geography data services to mature the geography system within master data. You will play a pivotal role in developing a robust platform and services you build will be critical in quoting, rating, booking, tracking, and delivery of customer shipments. Duties & Responsibilities:

Required Qualifications:

• - 6+ years of experience designing and driving implementation of large-scale software products or services that span multiple systems
• - Experience developing POCs and bringing innovative ideas to life
• - Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering teams
• - Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• - Experience with modern development languages (ex. .Net CORE, C#)
• - Experience with database objects in relational (ex. MS SQL, Oracle) and non-relational databases (ex. MongoDB, Elastic, Cosmos)
• - Experience with microservice architecture, CQRS, event driven and eventually consistent system design patterns and system flows
• - Experience with data streaming architecture and frameworks (Kafka, ESB)
• - Experience establishing testing patterns, acceptance testing criteria, and reviewing others’ automated tests
• - Experience with version control systems (ex. GIT, GITHub, TFS, etc.)
• - Experience with CI/CD continuous integration / continuous deployment practices
• - Experience building cloud native applications and services (ex. Azure, AWS, GCP)
• - Experience with end-to-end feature development including backend/API engineering
• - Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to communicate complex ideas effectively
• - Proven track record of effectively delivering results in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
• - Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or MIS; or, 4 years of equivalent work experience and a high school diploma/GED

Preferred Qualifications:

• - Experience modernizing legacy systems and incrementally moving complex business capabilities toward modern architectures
• - Experience designing highly automated, high-volume transactional workflows where human intervention is reserved primarily for exceptions
• - Experience with decision engines, optimization, rules systems, or intelligent workflow orchestration
• - Proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment while navigating ambiguity and multiple priorities
• - Demonstrated curiosity and willingness to experiment with emerging technologies while maintaining sound engineering discipline
• - Strong customer focus and ability to connect technical investments to measurable business outcomes
• - A learning and growth mindset that is open to giving and receiving feedback
• - Values a diverse and inclusive work environment

Compensation Range

$131,800.00 - $222,500.00

The base pay range displayed on the job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base pay for this specific location. Your individual base pay within this range is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base pay only and do not include additional variable compensation.
