Job summary

Brainner is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to enhance borrower-facing experiences, underwriting engine, and third-party API services. You will collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Design to deliver scalable features that help millions of users.

You will build a modern full-stack B2C loan origination system across AWS serverless, Salesforce automation, and Snowflake data infrastructure; mentor teammates; review code; and improve our DevOps and testing practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on software development and architecture experience on B2C products.
• Proven track record of overseeing product iterations from ideation to release.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Expertise in OO programming languages (Typescript/JavaScript, Python or Java).
• Expertise with React or React-based frameworks (Next/Remix).
• Fluent in CI/CD and Git workflows.
• Familiarity with Playwright and Jest.

Responsibilities

About the role

As a Senior Software Engineer you will play a critical role in enhancing and extending our borrower-facing digital experiences, underwriting engine, and third-party API web services.

Collaborating with Engineering leaders, Product, and your fellow Engineers, you'll help make decisions and lead projects that will lay the groundwork to help millions of Americans outsmart debt for good.

Compensation

The range for this position is $150,000 - $200,000 annually. The salary offered will be based on experience, qualifications, and geographic location.

What you will do

• Work as part of a team building a modern full stack B2C loan origination system as an augment to and extension of our existing technology platform
• Write code, define configuration management, and build declarative automation on each of and between AWS serverless infrastructure, Salesforce core automation, and Snowflake data infrastructure
• Review code contributions across the team and suggest ways to improve and optimize
• Collaborate with in-house test automation teams to predictably ship quality automation
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Designers to translate business and UI requirements into technical implementation specifications
• Utilize industry software delivery lifecycle best practices and methodologies for predictable and sustainable delivery models
• Exemplifying curiosity and continuous learning and improvement within the team and department, especially through blameless postmortems
• Elevate the team by mentoring and coaching team members, and improving our software development lifecycle and other engineering best practices

What you should have

• 5 years of demonstrable hands-on software development and architecture experience on B2C product(s)
• Proven track record of overseeing product iterations from ideation to release
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Expertise as a full stack developer using object-oriented programming languages (ideally Typescript/Javascript, Python or Java)
• Expertise with React or React-based frameworks like Next and Remix
• Fluent in the language of CI/CD and version control on top of Github
• Familiarity with test automation frameworks like Playwright and Jest
• Open to explore and learn Salesforce development for employee-facing tool use cases

Nice to haves

• Experience in financial lending industry
• Previous experience as a senior developer, team lead or above
• Experience with Salesforce development
• Comfort with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code toolkits
• Experience building applications that are integrated with and deployed on top of AWS services
• Experience building data models that will flow downstream to data lakehouses built on Snowflake
