Job summary

Terma Inc. (TUS), the US subsidiary of Terma A/S, seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join our defense-focused team in Georgia, with opportunities in Warner Robins or Atlanta.

You will design, develop, test, and debug embedded software and Windows desktop tools, and work across the lifecycle from requirements to deployment. Bachelor's in CS/IT/Engineering with embedded/RTOS experience is required.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance
• Experience in embedded systems design with preemptive, multi-tasking RTOS (e.g. VxWorks, Green Hills)
• Proficient in C, C++
• Knowledge of IBM Rational-DOORS
• Knowledge of OS coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces and hardware subsystems
• Experience developing software requirement specifications and software documentation
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Willingness to travel 10% CONUS and OCONUS

The Challenge:

The Senior Software Engineer will participate in complete embedded software development and Windows Mission Support Tool lifecycles. In addition to design, code development, and test, the Senior Software Engineer will ensure that requirements are correctly interpreted through participation in:

• Architecture and requirements reviews
• Peer reviews of work products derived from requirements specifications

Job Duties:

• Design, develop, test and debug system software
• Design and implement software for embedded devices and systems, throughout lifecycle from requirements to deployment
• Design and implement MS Windows desktop software from requirements to deployment
• Review code and design
• Estimate software development tasks and resource requirements

Qualifications:

Minimum Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT or Engineering and 15 years’ work experience in Software Engineering OR equivalent experience

Required Skills and Experience:

• US Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DOD) Security Clearance
• Proven experience in embedded systems design with preemptive, multi-tasking real-time operating systems (e.g. VxWorks, Green Hills)
• Proficient in C, C++
• Knowledge of IBM Rational-DOORS
• Knowledge of OS coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces and hardware subsystems
• Experience developing software requirement specifications and software documentation
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Willingness to travel 10% CONUS and OCONUS

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Knowledge of EW Self-Protection Systems (e.g. RWR, LWS, MWS) and performance
• Systems or networking programming experience
• Familiarity with C#, Python, and WinForms
• Experience with development and execution of verification and validation procedures
• Basic understanding of Software Security
• Knowledge of DO-178C
• Experience with development of avionics software
