Job summary

Oracle America, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager focused on security engineering, software architecture, and team leadership.

The role oversees cybersecurity initiatives across cloud security, IAM, and DevSecOps, and involves guiding architectural improvements across multiple product lines. The position may telecommute and requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and strong communication skills to drive security initiatives and align them with overall product

Qualifications

• Masters degree plus 4 years of experience in the role offered or in a Software Development Senior Manager-related position.
• Experience in cybersecurity program development and management (GRC).
• Experience with security architecture design for enterprise and cloud-based environments.
• Experience in identity and access management (IAM), including SSO, MFA, and identity governance.
• Experience in security operations, including threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management.
• Experience in data protection, including encryption, data loss prevention, and compliance with PCI DSS, SOC 2, or ISO 27001.
• Experience in network and communications security, including zero trust architecture and firewall administration.
• Experience in cloud security, including deploying and managing security controls across AWS and Azure.
• People management experience, including hiring, mentoring, performance management, and leading security engineering teams.
• Experience in technical strategy and innovation management, including roadmap planning, technology evaluation, and adoption of emerging security technologies.
• Experience with secure software development lifecycle and DevSecOps, including integrating security into development pipelines, static and dynamic code analysis, and security automation.
• Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills, along with a solid understanding of product development.
• BS or MS degree, or equivalent experience relevant to the functional area, and 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

Responsibilities

• We manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots, and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks, and related systems.
• We oversee software development work tied to building, debugging, and designing applications, operating systems, and databases in line with defined design specifications.
• We apply our software architecture expertise to guide development efforts and drive enhancements within existing architecture.
• We recommend improvements to the current software architecture.
• We manage activities across multiple functional areas and ensure operational planning is executed to meet corporate requirements.
• We may telecommute.
