Overview

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) in the United States.

As a Senior SDET, you will lead the design and implementation of enterprise-grade test automation strategies that ensure high-quality software delivery. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across Product, Design, and Engineering to improve testing practices, enhance system reliability, and support rapid product innovation. This role combines technical leadership with mentorship, allowing you to define testing standards, drive adoption of modern tools, and architect scalable solutions. You will have a direct impact on the quality of software used by thousands of customers while influencing the evolution of testing infrastructure and best practices. The position offers the chance to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment with a focus on continuous learning and technical excellence.

Accountabilities / Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive test automation strategies across multiple products and platforms.
  • Architect scalable testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines to support enterprise-level software delivery.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to translate business requirements into effective testing solutions.
  • Drive adoption of shift-left testing, performance testing, chaos engineering, and other quality practices.
  • Mentor and train team members on best practices, automation frameworks, and technical approaches.
  • Conduct technical interviews and contribute to hiring decisions for the testing organization.
  • Evaluate and implement emerging testing tools, technologies, and methodologies.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience delivering enterprise-scale test automation solutions, including test infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure).
  • Hands-on experience with modern functional testing tools (Playwright, Puppeteer, Cypress.io) and API/integration/performance testing tools (Postman, REST-assured, Pact, JMeter, K6).
  • Proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages (JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, Python) with strong software engineering practices.
  • Proven experience leading medium to large-scale, cross-functional testing initiatives and driving measurable quality improvements.
  • Strong technical communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud-based test environments.
  • Nice-to-have: Salesforce testing, consumer financial product experience, security/load testing, or chaos engineering expertise.
