Job summary

Arkestro, Inc. in the United States is seeking an experienced SDET to advance our QE processes for the Arkestro platform. You will help build and maintain automated tests, report defects, and ensure alignment with specifications and system behavior.

You will create regression, smoke, and performance tests, document test results, collaborate with product and support teams, participate in on-call rotation, and contribute to a thriving, remote-first culture with learning budgets and equity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software QA and automated testing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Holistic quality mindset and cross-team collaboration.
• Experience with programming languages: JavaScript, TypeScript, Gherkin, SQL, Ruby/Rails.

Responsibilities

• Build regression automation scripts to support app functionality.
• Manually test software for validation based on defined criteria.
• Execute smoke, regression, integration, performance tests for proper software behavior.
• Record detailed documentation of feature behavior and test results.
• Record pass/fails and correlate failures to bugs.
• Identify and escalate quality risks to the product/process.
• Collaborate with product teams to ensure quality throughout SDLC and releases.
• Collaborate with customer-facing teams to incorporate user feedback into testing strategy.
• Participate in refinement and estimation of effort for planning.
• Use GitHub to maintain automation repositories and run scripts.
• Participate in On-Call rotation.

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced SDET with a strong test background to continue to help us develop our QE processes and support the team building increased capabilities and enhancements to our Arkestro platform. We need someone who will be responsible for finding and reporting software defects and identifying discrepancies between specification and system behavior.

Responsibilities

• Build regression automation scripts that support app functionality
• Manually test software for validation and accuracy based on defined set of criteria
• Execute smoke, regression, integration, performance and other testing types to ensure proper behavior of software
• Record detailed documentation of feature behavior
• Record pass/fails conditions of tests and correlates failures to bug identification
• Identifies and escalates any risk to quality of the product or the process
• Collaborates with the product team to ensure quality throughout the SDLC and product release cycles
• Collaborates with customer-facing teams to incorporate user feedback in the testing strategy
• Participate in refinement and estimations of effort to promote accurate planning
• Utilize Github to maintain automation repositories, run custom scripts, and facilitate automated quality practices
• Participate in On-Call rotation

Required Qualifications:

• At least 5 years experience in a software quality assurance role
• At least 5 years experience in automated testing
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Possess a mindset focused on holistic quality
• Experience with programming languages such as Javascript, Typescript, Gherkin, SQL, Ruby/Rails

Nice to Have Qualifications

• Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Jest/Puppeteer, Playwright, Postman, Jmeter or any other object-oriented based automated testing framework
• Experience with testing support functionalities such as Github Actions, Lambdatest, Sendgrid, Datadog, PagerDuty
• Understanding of quality management systems and quality control processes
• Background in data-based testing and/or security-based testing
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other relevant experience

Pay Range

$135,000—$165,000 USD
