Amazon Web Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and operation of frontier AI tooling that empowers Proserve and Frontier AI teams to deliver customer outcomes at scale.

You will mentor engineers, shape architecture, and collaborate across teams to build reusable components, APIs, and automation for delivery workflows. This hands‑on role emphasizes performance, reliability, and security in a fast‑moving environment.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
  • 3+ years of experience designing and building agentic orchestration or workflow‑orchestration systems (multi‑step agent workflows, tool/service orchestration, or state management across distributed services)

Responsibilities

  • Build production‑grade software that helps teams understand customer context, develop solutions, coordinate delivery, and measure customer outcomes
  • Partner with delivery teams to turn recurring customer needs into reusable software components, APIs, templates, and automation
  • Lead design reviews and make sound tradeoffs across reliability, security, performance, cost, delivery speed, and maintainability
  • Build secure integrations with approved AWS services, internal platforms, customer systems, and governed data products
  • Establish testing, monitoring, logging, alerting, documentation, and incident‑response mechanisms for owned systems
  • Partner with Security Engineering to implement security‑by‑design requirements and remediate identified risks
  • Partner with Product & / or Data engineering to define product instrumentation, event schemas, and data contracts
  • Mentor engineers, provide high‑quality code reviews, and raise the technical bar for the immediate team and adjacent Forward Deployed Engineering pods

The role will be key to building the products and experiences that will be used by Proserve and Frontier AI organization to deliver business outcomes to our customers. Are you excited about building products that help Proserve and Frontier AI teams understand customer needs, develop the right solutions, and deliver them at scale? We are looking for a Sr. Software Development Engineer to build the solutions that span across Proserve, Frontier AI and services teams within AWS Sales, Marketing, and Services. You will define and deliver the tools, platforms, and experiences that enable these teams to deeply understand customer challenges, rapidly develop tailored solutions, and orchestrate delivery — directly accelerating AWS's delivery of business outcomes to our customers. This role is given the opportunity to drive AI driven transformation to all the processes from sales to delivery to customer outcomes across many roles that are involved in a Customer deployment. A successful candidate combines ability to review multiple proof of concepts being developed at the frontline and incorporate them in core product architecture in partnership with Product Management. You should be comfortable making calls in a fast‑moving environment where the playbook is being written in real time. This is a hands‑on position — the ideal candidate must be willing to balance speed of delivery with performance and scalability.

Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience

  • Experience building AI/ML‑powered product features, including evaluation, accuracy/precision tuning, or reducing hallucination in production AI systems
  • Experience implementing security‑by‑design, including row‑level entitlements or regulated‑data handling (e.g., PHI under a BAA)
  • Experience integrating with enterprise SaaS platforms (e.g., Salesforce) or governed data products

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
